Life Teen High School Ministry

High School Youth Group - LIFE TEEN

LIFE TEEN High School Ministry is open to all teens in 9th - 12th grades and offers a broad range of experiences for our Catholic young people.

We participate in retreats, mission trips, Catholic youth conferences, service projects, and social events, all meant to help make our teens' Catholic faith real and relevant to their lives. Additionally, we provide our teens the opportunity to gather once a week, on Sundays, in order to learn more about themselves and their faith in a fun, safe environment.  We meet in the Youth Room on Sunday's from 3:30 - 5:45pm, followed by the 6pm Mass.

Ministry Team Member positions include:

*Teacher/Catechist - responsible for developing and teaching lesson plans that will engage the young people in considering their faith, teaching the truths of the Roman Catholic tradition, being willing to continuously learn about Catholicism and their own faith life, and working collaboratively with the entire ministry team.

*Mentor - assisting with gatherings, engaging with the young Church, being a good faith-filled role model for young people to look up to, teaching the truths of the Roman Catholic tradition, being willing to continuously learn about Catholicism and their own faith life, working collaboratively with the entire ministry team.

Adult team members are vital to the success and growth of any youth ministry. These adults are responsible for creating and helping to maintain a safe environment for our young people, for teaching them the truths of our faith, and for journeying with the young Church.

Safe Environment Standards

All adults (ages 18 and older) interested in working with our young people are required to submit to FBI fingerprinting, a federal background check, and must complete an online Safe Environment Training prior to their involvement in youth ministry. If background clearance is not granted by the FBI and through the Diocese of Orlando, those individuals will not be permitted to volunteer in youth ministry. Fingerprinting appointments can be made via the Parish Office.

Please contact Parish Office at (386) 668-8270, for further information.

Youth Ministry

Youth Ministry is for all young people, ages 11-18, and spans Middle & High School youth. You may ask, "Why should my family be involved in youth ministry? We're already so busy." But it's important to know that all of the activities we participate in help give us value, a sense of belonging, and form us into the people we are.

Youth Ministry is a vital part of that formation--walking with our young people on their faith journey and supporting their families in their attempt to raise happy, healthy, faithful Catholic young adults.

Youth Ministry is an opportunity for our families to connect and engage with our parish family at St. Ann's; a chance for young people to make new friends with similar values, to learn about themselves, and discover the richness and beauty of our shared Catholic faith.

Youth Ministry focuses on developing teens' relationships with God and others, helping them to see where God is active in their lives, and it is a setting that allows them to ask questions and respond in faith.
